I've made some changes to the chatroom.Mostly, the changes just concern how the room is being presented and promoted. For a long time, we've been afflicted with visitors who're only interested in the webcams, and though after other changes I made, they didn't stay long (like when they found they couldn't see the cams straight away), they were still a problem. We were constantly trying to explain how things worked, only to have them leave, which is very annoying.
So... all mention of webcams outside of the room itself has now been removed, and the place is being promoted as a fun, friendly and intelligent(ish), 20s, 30s, and 40s chatroom. Also, the room is now visible on the irc network, as irc chatters often tend to have the kind of attitude we're looking for, compared to web chatters. It was previously set as invisible, as explaining the cams feature to every irc visitor who dropped in was a pain in the arse... but now the emphasis is no longer on the cams, that shouldn't be an issue.
To any of the regular chatters who're reading this... don't worry, the cams are still there, and will remain there... I'm just not promoting them as the main feature of the room any more.
