I've found the reason for the difficulty people including myself have been having getting into the chatroom. Seems dalnet (the chat network we use) is being hammered with denial of service attacks. Details Here.Bummer!
I know I'm not there as much as I used to be, but it rather sucks to not be able to get in there at all.
