Game Of The Week is now bigger, like twice as big.There are a few hitches and quirks when running these games, like if you refresh the page and then try to play the game again, it bugs out. The only way to fix that is to close the browser, and any others you may have open, and then open this blog again from scratch, but since there's no reason to reload the page anyway, it shouldn't be an issue.
I don't know how fast these games will run on other people's computers, but it seems fairly playable on my 1.1Ghz laptop, provided I don't have any other java sites loaded, or aren't running any cpu intensive programs.
Why so much cpu power to play such crappy old games? Well, java is an interpretted language, your browser is basicly emulating a non-existant type of computer, ie a java computer, and this in turn is emulating the arcade machine's cpu to run the game, so you have an emulator running an emulator. That's a lot of processing going on. Why bother? *Shrugs* Pure nostalgia, and the novelty value of having perfect versions of old arcade games on my blog.
