Seems there's a big hoohaa again this year about the bloggie awards. Much talk of vote rigging, conspiracies among the judges and high profile candidates pulling out.Ho-hum. You can't have it both ways folks. Last year there was an uproar because Wil Wheaton won damn near everything due to him being famous and getting lots of votes. This year the judges had a larger say in the results and again you think it's not fair.
Hah! There's always gonna be someone screaming "fix" when their fave blog doesn't get nominated.
For the record, I was nominted, though clearly didn't even get close to being a finalist, and I only knew about it when I saw a few hits coming in from a page on the bloggies site that I couldn't access. Doesn't bother me at all that I didn't get anywhere, 'cause I'm thrilled to bits that anyone likes my blog enough to even nominate it.
Maybe some people are just in it for the hits, like... obviously the final nominees and winners are gonna get huge hits, but hey, if you wanna get noticed, write a better blog, and then put in the time and effort to publicise the thing. The question should also be asked, what are you blogging for anyway? Surely not to win some online award? It's all about self expression isn't it? Having a say on whatever you feel like?
I feel quite embarrassed to be even writing about the thing, it's so insignificant, but hey, it's early, and I don't have anything more interesting to write about yet.
Give me more time... I will write a better blog, I promise.... maybe.
