Cats are wonderful animals, and I love them to bits. They do have one drawback though, they sometimes aren't entirely smart, and can't be relied upon to not get themselves run over by cars.There was a knock at the door this morning, turned out to be our next door neighbour, saying what looked like one of our cats was laying in her bushes, and appeared to have a broken leg.
So, I went round with her, and there was Milo, covered in what looked like black rubber from a tyre, and with a clearly non-functional rear leg.
We took him straight to the vet as an emergency case, and yup... broken hip.
It's upsetting, but far better his hip than his back.
As I sit here typing this, we're waiting for the vet to phone us, to go and collect him after his operation. £500+. Scary. If you have pets, seriously... insure them. Having 7 cats here, that isn't really viable... but yeash. If you feel inclined, taking an interest in the ads on the right would be more appreciated than ever.
