A long bicycle trip around Worksop, speeded up x4.In my continuing effort to get back in shape, I went for a much longer bicycle ride today, and even managed to get myself lost.
For all that I've lived here for nearly 5 years, I still don't know the place that well.
These bike rides should help sort that out too.
So, this video was originally 43 minutes long, but rather than cut it, and just keep the "good" bits... I chose to speed it up, so you can see the whole thing.

A quick bicycle trip around Worksop #2The 2nd in a series of bicycle trips around Worksop, as I endevour to get back in shape.
This time, the camera is held in place by a home made camera holder, constructed from a modified bicycle lamp (okay, so I just ripped the top of with a pair of wire cutters) and a big elastic band.

What's in your loft?'ve been planning to do a video of all the stuff that's crammed up in the loft here for some time, so at long last, here it is.
Unfortunately, there's just about zero light up there, so I'm using a head mounted torch. This allows me to see fairly adequately, but is next to useless for showing much on camera.

That Dog's Got **More** Balls
Bailey, our Labrador / Great Dane / Hound / Idiot shows how he can carry 4 tennis balls in his mouth at one time.
Initially it looks like he only has 3 balls in his mouth, but when you look closely, you can see that there is a 4th one hidden behind that one at the front.
As I stated in the video, he does this entirely of his own choosing. He was not trained or in any way induced to do this.

A Walk Into Town - Worksop in North Nottinghamshire.I took an old camera with me on my walk into town today, and shot some of the sites on the way.
The image quality is very rough, as it's a very old digital stills camera. I didn't want to take my usual camera, as it's a bit big, not at all suitable for shooting unobtrusively, and would have drawn unwanted attention.
Despite the low resolution and frame rate, I rather like the feel of the footage... like something from an old 70s home move, shot with 8mm film or something.
I was initially going to add commentary, but even though I've ;ived here for nearly 5 years, I don't know most fo the street names, and virtually none of the history, so it would have been fairly pointless.

So you'll have noticed that I really don't update this blog very often these days. It comes down to me being very busy with other stuff, and a lazy git when it comes to keeping up to date with older projects.
So... I've recently (yesterday) started a new youtube channel called "Benway's World" of all things, which unlike my retro gaming channel, is just me talking about whatever crosses my mind... pretty much what this blog is supposed to be then.
