![]() Pembroke Castle Keep. This castle was largely destroyed by Oliver Cromwell in the English civil war... if memory serves... though I'm not sure how that came to be in Wales. Maybe I'm mistaken. I'll google it later... maybe. Anyway... what I do know is that the place was rebuilt in the Victorian era, so though what you see here is authentic in design and layout... it isn't stone for stone as it was when it was built. Pity. Having said that... inside the keep, or tower, is just the most breathtaking experience. You step inside, look up, and simply gulp. Unfortunately, the light was so bad that I couldn't get a good shot. Photo taken with a Fuji Finepix 2800 camera.
