At a D-Day memorial site (if my memory serves me correctly), in Portsmouth.
The Churchill tank was first used in a disasterous landing attempt at Diep, in France, where they failed to get off the beaches.
They later proved very successful when used in Africa, partly because of their very heavy armour, which couldn't be pierced by any contemporary anti-tank gun (untill the 88mm anti-aircraft gun began being used for this purpose), but mainly for their ability to climb steep hills where no other tank could.
Churchills were used widely as "funnies" on D-Day, such as flail tanks, bridging tanks, etc, and later, some models were fitted with huge mortars for use as mobile artillery, and also with flame throwers.
Quite informative for what's just a photo gallery, isn't it? :)
