Overjoy: Joy
This is the 13th in a series of music videos documenting my musical progression from utterly rubbish, to somewhere around almost half decent. The video is simply a visualisation on Winamp, for which I claim no artistic credit. It's simply something to look at while listening to the music. Going by the band name "Overjoy", this was recorded in 1992 using a Tascam Porta 01 4-track portastudio, and like most of the tunes under the Overjoy band name, was intended to be played by a band. Again, this sounds better through headphones than from speakers. This is one of my favourite tunes from my "Overjoy" period. Typically, it's repetitive, and no doubt to the casual listener, completely boring. However, there's a lot more going on here than it first appears. I was playing chords on a bass guitar, and adding subtle extra layers of bass on top of that. I find this tune very relaxing to listen to, though as usual, it's better with headphones, or with very good speakers that can pick out the subtleties in the bass.
