Benway : Turn Down The Lights

This is the 26th in a series of music videos documenting my musical progression from utterly rubbish, to somewhere around almost half decent.
The video is simply a visualisation on Winamp, for which I claim no artistic credit. It's simply something to look at while listening to the music.

Going by the band name "Benway", this was recorded in 2000 using a Roland MC303.

This tune is one of my favourites, being what I would consider "pure dance".
It has however been criticised in certain circles for making excessive use of the 303's arpeggiator. There may be some validity to this argument, as I certainly did use it a lot.
To me though, when I'm choosing what notes are played, in what order, how much attack, the level of quantisation, and numerous other paramaters, to criticise my use of what is a creative tool is like berating a car driver for using the engine and not getting out and pushing the car.
And then some "musicians" do nothing more then sample other people's work and throw a drum beat over it, and get nothing but praise.
Oh well.
