This is a short video clip of me playing Mine Storm on the Vectrex retro video games console.

Coded by John Hall and published by GCE in 1982.
Mine Storm is the game that comes built into the Vectrex console, and is basically an Asteroids clone.

Apart from the obvious visual differences between Mine Storm and Asteroids, the only real gameplay differences are that the "mines" don't break up into smaller chunks, though they do start off in different sizes, and also the inertia effect on your ship's movement is much lighter.

If you're an Asteroids fan, this game makes having a Vectrex worthwhile in itself, and back in 1982, added hugely to the value for money represented by the console. Cartridge games back then were stupidly expensive, and £30 in 1982 was a small fortune.

This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
