This is a short video clip of me playing Scramble on the Vectrex retro video games console.

Coded by Paul Newell and published by GCE in 1982, Scramble is based on the classic Konami arcade shootemup.

While obviously lacking the brightly coloured and visually very pleasing graphics of the arcade original, the Vectrex version of Scramble does a good job of replicating the gameplay of what was a hugely popular game.

So while the gameplay may look basic, It should be remembered that without this game, there would be no R-Type, no Gradius or Parodius, and no Thunderforce.

This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
